PMO LIG Meeting

The Project Mangement Office - Local Interest Group, or PMO-LIG, is a component of the Austin PMI Chapter and is meant to work in conjunction with the local chapter and provide additional opportunities to conduct focused discussions on the topics of Project and Portfolio Management.

The PMI Austin Chapter PMO LIG (Project Management Office, Local Interest Group) provides a forum to
• Share common interests and issues
• Provide continuing project management education
• Share tools and templates that work and
• Learn from other PMO professionals.

Meetings are held bimonthly over lunch. Programs for the PMO LIG meetings include specialized project, program, and portfolio management training as well as round table discussions and speaker panels. PDU credit is offered for all PMO LIG meetings. On-line registration is available via the PMI Austin Chapter website.

Meetings are normally held at the TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) building, 12007 Research Blvd, 78759. Cost for the meeting and lunch is $12 for PMI members and $15 for non-PMI members. The presentation only cost is $5 for both members and non-members.

Past meetings topics have included:

• Panel discussion, “Top PMO Leaders Share their Voice of Experience”, with PMO Directors from Freescale, Dell, HHSC, and LCRA.
• Open table discussions of PMO start-up questions and concerns, as well as sharing real world experiences in developing and working with a young PMO.
• Presentation by Michael Airaudi, PMP, MSM, and owner of PM Mentors, on “Project Sponsorship: Key to Success or Recipe for failure? “
• Presentation by Darrel A. Raynor, PMP, CCP, MBA, and Managing Director of Data Analysis & Results, Inc., on “Agile & Integrated Project Management” 
• Round table discussions on Tools and Templates for Project Management Success with tools and templates to take away.
